A room fit for a princess

Jayci, 3, diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, wanted to have a magical experience that she could remember forever. shewanted her room to be transformed into a place fit for a princess.

When her wish granting duo, Terry and Beth, tried to find Jayci’s one true wish, it soon became obvious of her love for princesses. Her bedroom makeover would be the perfect way in which she could sleep and play like royalty.

The magical memories created on the day her wish was granted is something that Jayci and her family can carry on throughout the years to come. Jayci’s want for a “big girl” bed turned into a custom bed built especially for her. The castle bed was complete with everything from a beautiful scene of castles and landscape to a slide where, when play is finished, she can slide down from the top of her big purple castle.

Jayci was crowned and given a wand which she now keeps on a shelf in her brand new room. Seeing them is a small reminder of the day she became a real princess, the day her wish came true.

Because of everyone that helped make Jayci’s wish come true, she gets to fall asleep in her very own castle every night.

A California Adventure

Jesse lives in a small west Texas town where “not much happens”. So when it was time to choose his wish, he knew he wanted an Adventure. He chose to go to California for an Amusement Park Tour. While on the west coast, he visited Disneyland, Universal Studios, Knott’s Berry Farm and Magic Mountain! Whew…what a week!

Connor’s Soccer Fundraiser

The Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Texas Plains is teaming up with WTAMU Soccer to raise funds for Connor’s one true wish. Connor wants to go to the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa next summer.

Join us on Sunday, October 25, 2009 for the last home games of the season for both the Buffs and Lady Buffs soccer teams. The Lady Buffs kick-off against Abilene Christian at 1pm, and the Buffs square up against long-time rival Midwestern State at 3pm.

Come enjoy soccer at its finest as well as half-time events, goal can mania and a chance for the “best seat in the house”.

Purchase your tickets through the Make-A-Wish Office for $3/ea and 100% of your purchase goes towards Connor’s wish. We only have 200 tickest, so contact us immediately.
[All other ticketing must be purchased the day of the event at the WTAMU ticket booth located at the entrance to The Pitch]

Wish Granter Training

Wish Granters work directly with the children and their families to determine the child’s one true wish and then play an instrumental role in helping to plan, create and fulfill the child’s wish. These specifically trained volunteer’s make the wish an unforgettable experience through their attention to detail and imagination.

To become a wish granter, you must first go through one of our trainings. Notebooks and snacks are provided.
