Alyssa’s tandem bicycle

Photos

Bike2 Bike1

Alyssa, age 12, wished to receive a tandem bicycle. This type of bicycle seats two people and allows the rear person to steer and control the bike while the child sits up front and experiences the ride like they are the ones in control of the bicycle.

Alyssa’s mom wrote:

“Alyssa has had a great time riding with her family and friends on her new bicycle. She attended her school’s track meet on Wednesday and was able to ride in style with the wind on her face the several blocks to the stadium. She has a constant smile on her face and her hands are clapping the entire time she is on the bicycle. If it stops for too long, she starts moving the pedals back and forth, ready to take off again. After the forty-five minutes of nonstop laps around the school at the Make-A-Wish presentation on Tuesday, when I mentioned the word “bicycle” her eyes lit up, she giggled and clapped. As a mother of a nonverbal child, that spoke a thousand words to me! We truly appreciate Make-A-Wish for granting Alyssa her wish and we know it will bring her much happiness every time she rides it.”

Thanks,
Glen, Susan and Alyssa
