Wish assist

Occasionally a wish child will travel to another chapter’s area to get their wish fulfilled, and the help of that Make-A-Wish® chapter is needed. This was the case for Adam whose wish was to meet and play drums with David Crowder, a Christian singer, and his band. This trip, which included Adam and his mom, ended up being a weekend of fun in Lubbock!

With the help of Angie Graham and many Lubbock businesses, Adam’s stay was an experience he will never forget. Adam got to meet David Crowder, play the drums on stage after the concert, hang out and eat with the band, eat at his favorite restaurant Golden Corral, ride in Hummer and Excursion limos, visit Prairie Dog Town, learn how to ride a horse at 4 Bar K Ranch, and many other things.

The band was thrilled to help with the wish. One band member said, “We just couldn’t believe that a kid’s wish was to meet us. He could do or have anything, and that’s what he chose. That is so cool!” Adam and his mom had a great time and left with several souvenirs including a kitten he received at the 4 Bar K Ranch from Chuck Kershner.

Adam’s mom said, “We would love to move to Texas. Everyone here is so friendly and helpful.” All in all, Lubbock did an amazing job in giving Adam an experience he will never forget. Adam even named his kitten “Angie” in honor of Angie Graham.
